Terror Attacks in Mumbai Again

I never thought I would read these headlines, about a city that I live in and have grown to love. I’ve never felt more safe in a city than in Mumbai, and I cannot believe this is happening. I am stunned, saddened, angry, confused, upset, anxious, and homesick – both for the peaceful world of the U.S. and for the peaceful Mumbai I knew less than several hours ago.

Headlines:

Terror attacks in Mumbai; 80 dead, over 900 injured

80 Dead in Mumbai Attacks; Hostages Taken

Dozens Reported Dead in India Attacks

For the record, I am fine. Sarah and I are holed up in our apartment, staying quiet and out of the way. I’m worried about the fact that this is supposedly against foreigners, as those were all the sites targeted. I will keep everyone updated as I find out what’s happening.

Keep us, and the rest of Mumbai, in your prayers, please.

    Hi Ariel,

Boy, we are glad that you are safe and in Israel now. We have all be vigil by the TV watching and waiting for some good news. I cannot even imagine what you have been through and what you are feeling. We really missed you at our Thanksgiving feast and we all toasted your safe return to us soon. Well, one thing is for sure – you will never forget this Thanksgiving, and neither will we. Your mom anxiously awaits your call upon your arrival at your colleague’s appartment in Israel.
Miss you, and love you -

    Aunt Vicki
